Reverend Simon is welcomed to his new ministry

A special service for the licensing of the Reverend Simon Piercy was held at Hope Church on Tuesday 2nd September.  Simon is our newly appointed Rector who will serve the churches of St Cynfarch and St Cyngar, Hope, St John’s, Penymynydd and Emmanuel, Penyffordd.

The licensing was led by the Right Reverend Gregory Cameron, Lord Bishop of St Asaph, assisted by the Archdeacon and Mission Area Leader.  Also taking part were the church wardens and others from the local community who offered their words of welcome.  St John’s Community Choir, conducted by Simon himself, sang Benedictus and the Lord’s Prayer.

​The church was full for this wonderful and uplifting service.  It was followed by refreshments in the hall at which Simon received many more congratulations.  We are all looking forward to Simon’s new ministry with us here in Hope.
