Reader Barry Smith is about to reach his 80th birthday and a surprise lunch party was arranged for him after the 11 am service on Sunday.  It was organised by his eldest daughter Felicity assisted by Angela and a willing band of helpers from the church.  The hardest part was keeping it all a secret from Barry!

Can you spot Barry in the middle of the photo above?  Many friends, relations and members of Hope and Emmanuel Churches joined in the celebration as you can see.

Barry has been a much valued member of the church community for many years regularly leading services in both churches as well as taking responsibility for Hope Church Hall.  This wonderful occasion gave us all the perfect opportunity to wish him a very Happy Birthday.
