All are welcome to our service for the Second Sunday of the Easter Season, as we think about the disciple "Doubting" Thomas and if his nickname is a fair one. Is Jesus so concerned by our doubts anyway? Adam leads from Hope Church, Gareth speaks on John 20:18-31 from Emmanuel Church. In this service, we also mark the passing of the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip in the intercessions. A big thank you to everyone who helped put up the Good Friday Cross followed by the Easter Day Banner and decorate Hope and Emmanuel Churches for Easter this year! Here are some of the flowers....
Good Friday Meditations on Mark (2 April 2021)
Rev Adam Pawley considers the Good Friday Story as told in Mark's gospel, chapter 15, in five short meditations... His Rejection... His Mocking... His Crucifixion... His Death... His Triumph. This service lasts 25 minutes. Watch here: fb.watch/4SvY3RJmoc/ Good Friday in Seven Minutes Adam reads the story and asks the question, why is Good Friday called Good Friday? Watch here: fb.watch/4Sv_2F3tN4/ Easter Day Holy Communion with Prayers of Spiritual Communion (4 April 2021) Alleluia! Christ is Risen. He is Risen indeed! Alleluia! Gareth opens from St John's, Adam speaks on the story and history of the Resurrection - "His Story" - from Emmanuel, and concludes with Holy Communion with prayers of spiritual communion in Hope Church. This service, longer than usual, is 40 minutes long. Watch here: fb.watch/4Sw4_5pWA0/ The All Age Easter Celebration Have your Easter Garden in a Bag Ready! We will be building these together during the service. Includes a retelling of Bob Hartman's Easter Poem, "All About Easter: A Resurrection Rhyme", fun songs from Helen and Mark Johnson of Out of the Ark Music. This service lasts 25 minutes. Watch here: fb.watch/4Sw9lvWY4t/ Join us for the Hope Churchyard Easter Quiz/ Egg Hunt for 2021! This year's quiz is Covid-safe (non contact) and now up and ready. It will be there until the morning of the Sunday after Easter. Download your Quiz Sheet below or pick one up from the box outside the Vestry Door (disabled entrance). All 14 clues are in sight of the paths that encircle the church and there are NONE near the crib or on the grass at the front of the church. Please take care in the churchyard, the ground is uneven in places and remember children in the churchyard are the responsibility of their adults with them. By leaving the Quiz/Egg Hunt up over a longer period of time than just Easter Day this year, we are much reducing the chances of you coming into contact with other families. If others however do happen to be present at the same time as you, then please ensure your households stay socially distant. The grass is clean to move around on - the sheep have not been in since the winter and will return after the holidays. Complete just for fun! Or parents/carers perhaps bring with you a creme egg for a prize? (Sorry we have no edible prizes to give out this year in order to stay Covid safe). Enjoy! And may you all have a safe and happy Easter.
