Thank you to all those who dropped in for a 'Butty & a Brew', today's fund-raising event in the Church Hall.
The photo shows some of those who organised the event and provided us with mouth-watering bacon and sausage butties together with vegan and gluten free options. and tea or coffee. They also offered a take-away service. We hope you all enjoyed your tasty breakfast! £250 was raised for church funds. Following the Sunday morning service on 3rd September members of the congregation gathered in the churchyard for the planting of a yew tree to mark Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee and in Remembrance.
The tree had been nurtured by Kathleen Graham prior to the day of the ceremony and the planting was carried out by David Pickering. David was a founder member and Chairperson of the 'Friends of Hope Church' and acted as sexton for many years, taking care of many tasks within the churchyard. The ceremony was followed by a Bring and Share lunch in the Church Hall. |
