Mrs Gwynifred Leaney, a lifelong member of Hope Church, celebrated her 90th Birthday on the 29th July.  She was with her family in Austria on her big day but the congregation were keen to offer their own congratulations when she returned.

So 'Happy Birthday' was sung to her at the beginning of Sunday's Morning Worship and after the service a 'Bring and Share' lunch was held in the Church Hall.   
  
Mr David Pickering led tributes to Gwynifred, and many others present spoke of her dedicated service to the Church as well as relating fond memories of her time as a domestic science teacher and as leader of Hope Guides.  There were very personal tributes too from people who greatly appreciated the support she had given them  during difficult times.
