Welcome to this week's online service, the last in this format for our three churches, which will be explained toward the end of the service.
This week, we return to Mark's gospel and consider Jesus's teaching on the importance of placing God before tradition. You can view the service here. Addendum from Adam At our church services today, we also had two important announcements to make. Firstly, congratulations to Gareth on completing his curacy and his new appointment as Vicar of Old Colwyn, Llanelian & Betws-yn-Rhos on the north coast. Gareth's last Sunday with you will be 17 October. We keep Gareth, Shavonne and the children in our prayers as they seek to end well with us and prepare for this new venture in mission together. Secondly, congratulations to Canon Martin Batchelor, our mission area leader, on his new appointment to Mold and Northop. Martin is with us until 7 November and his licensing will be on Advent Sunday 28 November. We also keep Martin, Jill and family in our prayers.

Addendum from Adam
This morning in our churches and the end of this online service, my new appointment as Vicar of Welshpool was announced. Our last Sunday morning with you will be on Sunday 5 September. (Our last Sunday afternoon in Hope on 29 August). You are a wonderful group of people - in the churches and the villages - and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with you these past eight years - to laugh with you, cry with you, pray with you, see you consider faith, explore faith, try faith, commit to faith, grow in faith and challenge my faith! You are going to be very much missed. It has been a very hard decision to make - we have been very happy here - but through much prayer and deliberation, we have become convinced of God's call, that this is a good next step for us as a family, and we are really looking forward to getting to know everyone in Welshpool. Please keep us in your prayers, as we will keep you in ours during the Vacancy. You are all very welcome to attend my licensing service at St Mary's Welshpool at 3pm on Sunday 7 November. Adam, Rachel & family Join us on the ninth Sunday after Trinity at www.facebook.com/hopeparishchurch. Adam leads from Hope Parish Church, reflecting on Jesus as the bread of life from John 6:24-35. Alternatively, join us in person (no need to reserve a seat)
Please note - social distancing and the wearing of masks remain compulsory for worship inside our buildings - we are in Wales We also produce a hard copy text version of this online service, that we deliver to those who are not online.
