On Friday 28th February, about 50 people gathered in the hall, across 8 teams, to compete in Pam and Rob Attree's Big Quiz of 2020. A fun time was had by all as we battled out a close contest over six rounds, which included pictures, music, things that begin with "J" and news of 2019. Many thanks to Pam and Rob for putting it all together and hosting, along with their granddaughter, Georgia. We were also grateful to Liz and Rosina for organising the half time refreshments. Our worthy winners were the "Pole Cats" (pictured on the left below).

It was lovely to see so many at today’s Half Term Pop In. Thank you to everyone who came along and added to the lovely atmosphere. It wasn’t just the youngsters who enjoyed the table football, pool and table tennis. At one stage the combined age of those playing a team game of table football was easily in excess of 210! During another game, with the help of a chair to stand on, Flossie was able to take part aged only 3. In a quieter corner our craft table was very popular as Louisa and Kathleen shared their crochet and origami skills. There was still plenty of space for our usual Thursday fellowship and it was good to see so many of our regulars there enjoying a chat, many of them enjoying pizza and hot dogs in addition to our usual refreshments. Several commented on how lovely it was to be joined by the younger generation. A very big thank you to everyone who organised today’s extra activities as well as our usual Pop In team. |
